Darn Mosquitoes!

Chloe gets terrible mosquito bites! She always scratches the daylights out of them.  She ends up with terrible welts all over her body and just crawls out of her skin with the itchies! I know how she feels.  The same thing happens to me from time to time.  We try to put cortazone on them with bandaids, and that seems to help mildly.  When she goes to bed at night, we give her a Benedryl for some relief so she can sleep without shredding her skin.  One day we stopped to visit my friend Lise, who told Chloe a story about how she'd heard that toothpaste would help bug bites.  At the time Chloe was astounded that anyone would do such a thing and vowed that she was not interested in trying it .  I told her that was fine, she didnt have to try it... but if she changed her mind any time, we could do it and just see if it works.

By the time we got home...she was super excited to try it.  She was very curious and scientific about her experience.  She had a hypothesis that it wouldnt work and was pleasantly surprised when it "did sort of work a little bit".

With Chloe, sometimes it just takes a little while for an idea to sink in before she's ready to try it out.
I like that about her.

Food Faces

One day we were getting ready to eat, and asked Chloe to guess what we were going to have.  We started naming off foods that we might have to eat and she started making faces.  So we started asking her what faces went with which foods.   Here is the series of faces that she showed us.  Such an expressive child.

Fourth of July!

This fourth of July was so much fun!  We got to go to the "Cake House" again.  This is a really awesome house on Eliza Island that we go to with Abby's family. We take the boat the the Island and stay at the house over the Fourth weekend.  Chloe was so proud of herself this weekend because she had just learned to swallow pills.  She was able to swallow her dramamine, and a tylenol  when she ended up with a growing pain in her leg.  She very much impressed me.  This is the second year we've been to the Cake house for Fourth of July, it's special to be included in the Norton family tradition! Chloe got so excited to go on the boat, and see the house,  play on the beach, roast marshmallows on the beach bon fire, look for agates......so many things to list!  I took entirely too many photos over the weekend.  I'll have to include a ton of them.  Every so often I get a collection of pictures that show Chloe's personality.  I definately got some of them this summer!
